Pastor Shawn and Dr. Heidi have been happily married for 32 years, and are blessed with three children, two daughters-in-love, and two grandchildren so far.

They reside in Apache Junction, AZ.

ABOUT US

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Pastor Shawn worked in the medical field for many years in Radiology, as well as in Marketing before he was ordained in the Gospel Ministry and founded New Season Christian Fellowship in 2005. He is the Senior Pastor of NSCF, as well as the Founder/President of New Season Bible Institute.

Dr. Heidi is a Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor and has her Doctorate in Philosophy of Clinical Christian Counseling, through Colorado Theological Seminary. She is a Clinical Supervisor through National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). She also serves as the Executive Pastor, alongside her husband, at New Season Christian Fellowship.

Pastor Shawn and Dr. Heidi are also the Executive Directors and progenitors of Ethos Counseling Institute (ECI). ECI is an organization that trains and equips those both gifted and called to the area of Pastoral Counseling. ECI affords the opportunity for those seeking licensing and accreditation in the area of Pastoral Counsel to receive their degree from NCCA and personal mentorship from Ethos staff.

WHAT TO EXPECT

WHAT IS TEMPERAMENT THERAPY?

Dr. Heidi is a Licensed Temperament Therapist and will utilize the incredible "tool" of Temperament Therapy, along with other beneficial resources, to understand yourself and your God-given needs.

You will then learn how to cultivate a cooperative environment to get those needs met in a healthy way.

We believe the building block of a healthy society is a healthy individual. Ethos is committed to helping people in overcoming any concerns, difficulties, and obstacles blocking them from obtaining a healthy life.

Ethos unique first step in assisting to achieve that health goal is Temperament Therapy. Temperament is a foundational force to help us navigate as we process thoughts, feelings, and circumstances. All custom fit toward your health goals.

PRE-MARITAL

We at Ethos, have written a pre-marital workbook entitled, “GCS”.

We believe that much like the GPS navigational system gets us from point A to point B, to get from our present state to our “happily ever after’, we need three essential things in life, G od as the source, healthy C ommunication, and S pice in our intimacy of soul, adventure, and sex.

We will walk the engaged couple through 10 sessions with a goal to answer two vital questions...

1.) WHAT really is marriage?

Temperament therapy is first implemented to give greater understanding of the needs within each partner, in order to be most effective in marital unity. Through collaborative counseling, we can help address underlying issues and be a mediation tool through difficult conversations with those you love the most.

Family counseling can consist of, but is not limited to, conflict resolution, parenting techniques to lower stress within the family unit, building healthy communication, recognizing the needs of one another and implementing strategy of how to best meet those specific needs, promote cooperation and help develop connection, all while creating and maintaining healthy boundaries.

We believe that marriage is God-ordained and has a well-instructed plan in the manual called His Word, as well also other vital tools that must be applied in order to achieve the goal of marriage He has called us to enjoy.
